Art in the Afternoons: Drawing & Watercolour (Fall)
Date: September 21 – November 9
Time: 8 Thursdays, 1:00 – 3:30 pm
Instructor: April White
Designed to help you have fun and relax on a Thursday afternoon, this class will focus on developing basic drawing skills and then shifting these into a small series of watercolour paintings. Drawing is an important foundation for all other activities, and April will introduce some of the basics including contour drawing, form, shape, and pattern. With that in your pocket, you will learn a variety of simple watercolour techniques and apply them in some exercises and small pieces. For those with little to no experience, this is an excellent way to unwind and explore these artistic media. A great class to take with a friend, and a perfect precursor to many of our other art classes.
“As someone with zero art experience, I found the class challenging at times but very accessible. April is very positive and encouraging, and she made the entire experience fun. I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed the entire experience. I highly recommend her class to anyone who has never tried an art class before.” from a recent participant in April’s Art In the Afternoon class
